How do I do the cool color fading thing in the signature?

I remember that Netscape Composer once had a rainbow text filter. Then you could just do search and replace to convert it to vBB code.

Yes but people ON THIS FORUM are doing it...I want to know how!

You can try one of these threads.....Active had a tool for this that was great.....I'm sure someone here has the link if it's not these two.

I have the HTML code for the fading text, how do I convert it to code that I can use on vbulletin boards?

is there a way to not have to do it by hand?

It's called Search and Replace. :D

how?
I got this program that does 'gradient' and stuff, but it says that "You Need to have CommonDialog ActiveX Control Installed"
how do I get that?

Wow. You do realize that all of this time spent using html tags to fade text COULD be spent writing c++ code using pointers...don't you?

Go to this post (http://forums.vb-world.net/showthre...&threadid=59426 ) and download the program mentioned on it. Then reboot and go to IE.

Right click on a text box like the one in Submit Reply and you'll have a bunch of cool commands.

Then you can do this and not have to code HTML by hand!

oh, and DaveAMS...

all the development time on applications is really spent fading text with html tags in some obscure post on a cool forum.

its true!!!

watch....

Pointers are very difficult to program so we are phasing them out of our vocabulary. Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...P ointers...Pointers...Pointers...Pointers...

Phasing out pointers...you didn't have anything to do with the development of java, did you? Oh, and you've made a fatal error in your calculations. Your version number for vb is a little off:

3.14159265358...the next digit is "9", so it would round up:

3.14159265359.

Professor: "Pi-r-squared"
Redneck Student: "Pi aren't square! Cornbread are square, Pi are round!"

Thanks dave.

I actually did a cut and paste from another app so I didn't think about digit errors.......

And I had nothing to do with making Java. I like pointers, really. Except for all of their problems...like GPFs...theyre actually a cool little device.

> I actually did a cut and paste...

That's cheating. Everyone should know at LEAST the first 13 digits of pi by heart. ;)

> Except for all of their problems...like GPFs

Pointers don't cause GPF's...The GPF-Fairy does. But if you put them under your pillow at night, they'll turn into a dime by morning!

:: falls to his knees ::

Oh great and glorious GPF Fairy!! Forgive me for my sins!! I have wrongfully denied you credit for destroying my life (not to mention lots of code)!! Don't kill me, please!!

:: collapses in tears ::

Wahh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All those gpfs I had while I was trying to >hic< break into that program and I >hic< destroyed them!! I couldve been >hic< rich!!!!

AAGHHHHHH!!!!!!

:: decides to jump off of a bridge and end the pain ::

I -do- know those digits of PI.. the thing is I wanted more digits than I could remember (I had access to 50 with little effort) but I couldn't get them to fit into the box very well so I erased a few. Hence the cut and paste.

I didn't cheat! Really! Honest! Crap..
