    Sudden realization

    I realized this after watching the Simpsons episode where Lisa becomes a vegetarian. In that episode, Lisa visits a petting zoo and practically falls in love with a lamb. Later, that night, Marge serves lamb chops, much to Lisa's disgust. Throughout most of the show, she tries everything she can to stop people from eating meat. After much usual Simpsons plot, towards the end of the show, somebody (darn it, I forgot who) told her that you should simply accept other people's viewpoints, rather than force your own upon them.

    I was thinking about this, and realized that nearly all of us are like Lisa. We all try to force others to think our way. Take, for example, the recent Windows XP love/hate thread. I liked Windows XP, Justin hated it. Yet each of us tried to make the other think our way.

    Have you noticed this too?

    There's been plenty of it lately. But I do like a good debate. It allows you to find out how people formulate some of their opinions in the first place.

    Hang on - Linda McCartney said to respect the views of others and not force your opinions on them? Isn't she the one who forced her dog into being a vegan?

    I don't know if this is over-analyisation but have you noticed that all the characters would pretty much make up an inderviduals personality.

    like theres a little of Lisa Marge Homer Bart etc in all of us.

    I think I have more Barny than Professor Phink but hey that's just me.

    It's called human stupidity
    Use
    writing software in C++ is like driving rivets into steel beam with a toothpick.
    writing haskell makes your life easier:
    reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13
    To throw away OOP for low level languages is myopia, to keep OOP is hyperopia. To throw away OOP for a high level language is insight.
