Look in your user CP - they're called Avatars.

Some people found pre-animated ones. I made mine in Photoshop and Imageready myself.

And a damn fine job you made of it too. It sings, it dances, it...

    Oh, wait.

    No, sorry. Wrong avatar.

It was the first time I've used ImageReady. Previously I used *gags at the thought* Corel Photo-Paint.

    I have the perfet picture..
    but the pixels are 200 * 123
    Just a little too large.
Any suggestion on how to crop it?

Post the image and maybe image resizing and cropping it can get it to 64x64 pixels.

If you want to use something easy that you've already got, try PhotoEd. I think everyone's got that. Then you can either crop it or shrink it.

What are you talking about? Photopaint rocks ... !

My favorite is probably either Fireworks 4, or Photoshop 6 though(PS seems to have better layer options/management but Fireworks is great for text manipulation, slicing, and hotspots(client side imagemaps))...

    .ani files?

Windows 98 has .ani files, which are animated cursors. Can these be used as avatars.?

No, you'd have to convert it to a .gif first.

    Hmm...any programs available for that?

If not, could be a nice challenge for me...

I guess you have to use Microangelo, the best icon editor in the world , to copy and paste the frames into Imageready.
