Right now I'm in my firend's house and he has a werid problem... His colors are MESSED UP!!!

For some reason the ONLY setting it will let us have is 640x480 16 Color and that's it... so the screen size is very big and the colors are really messed up. (As I'm writing this, I can barely see what I'm writing)...

Anyway, I scanned his PC for viruses and yes, he had like 8 Sub7 Trojans but I don't think they are the problem...

Any ideas, like re-installing the display drivers???

Hehe, you might want to set up virus protection and a firewall while you're at it. :D

It sounds like screwed up video drivers. Try reinstalling ones downloaded from the video card's website.

Yeah, I will do the virus/fireall thing :D

But where can I find out the video card name and everything?

By the way, see what it looks like....

I assume that he is running Windows 98 or Me if he got a virus. So open the control panel, and open the System applet. Go to the Device Manager tab, expand Display Adapters, and that's the card. BTW, take a screenshot of what you see under display adapters so we can see it too.

Yeah, He has ME....

Here is the screenshot...

BTW, the thing on the right is just for educational experiments only... :D

Also, if you can, I'd advise you get the monitor info file from the manufacturer. It includes loads of stuff on supported reso's/depth/Hz. If Windows doesn't know what your monitor supports, it will give you crappy settings.

Try the manf's web site for drivers...

Get the latest Detonator3 drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=windows9x

I think it is that experiment gone bad. I think she is the she devil....... can I have that when your done...uhhhh second thought maybe not :D:D

I agree about the drivers. but why don't you just delete it from teh device manager and restart and see if it finds it and loads the drivers for it.

The readme for the Detonator3 drivers just says click "Update Driver" in the device manager.

ohh that is fine but deleting it will get rid of those old corrupt drivers so you can install the good ones without worrying about it becomeing corrupt itself.
