Hey why don't you try out the site www.vbhelp.net it got lot's of (rescourses<- I don't know if I spell it right) and some good links to where you can find the source code for IRC just a sample though. I've found lot's of rescourses that are related to IRC from the links on that site....
If you don't want to go and find the source code then email me at: [email protected] and said that you want the source code and i'll send it to you...

Hi, I'm developing my own IRC Control. It'll be ready very soon now, but I don't know yet if I'm going to sell it, or just give it away for free. I've put a lot of hard work in it! I'll let you know!

Thanks alot for your replies.. I found the source of an mIRC clone on www.acky.net. I'm not willing to spend $$$ on a control to do the job (heh if it weren't for college developing in VB wouldn't be possible right now... $400 or so for the pro edition I think it is). I will be looking into the activex controls mentioned though just to see how well they work.
Again thanks for your replies

Bart, if you think that you want to help orther VB programers on the idea of doing making an IRC client then post up the code for it. And who are lazy enough that don't want to read the code you posted up or use their brain then you can sale them the product of yours. 'cause if you post the code up and explain it or a brief explaination about people would understand it better....
hope this help.....
