Howdy all.
I was sitting here rather bored, and decided to see what happens if you put a cd-rom into a microwave.
Its cool !
I would suggest you just stand near enough to pull the plug after a few seconds because it looks rather violent.
The cd rom looks cool afterwards tho. I've hung it on my wall !

What was once a nice and smooth, golden in colour, piece of technology, is now a cracked and destroyed piece of crap.

yeah my mates and i tried that looks real cool. Like lightning.
We did it to his sisters entire music collection which included such rockers as savage garden etc.
Here's a hint dont do it too much otherwise the roof of the microwave gets bubbles in it!
And thats not a good sign.

Looks good. How long do you give it? What power?
Does the CD go soft when you've cooked it?
Many years ago they used to make ash trays and plant pot holders out of 78 records by dipping them in hot water, I wonder if you can bend a CD and still have it shiny.

Em well.
I gave it about 5 seconds in all.
On full power. Dunno what wattage that is.
And the cd isnt soft. Its exactly like it is when you put it in, 'cept a bit ****ed up ;)

Fizzzz, Crackle, Fizzzzz!
he he
don't worry, I won't hold you responsible.
I did once hold a sealed, empty 2 litre plastic beer bottle close to a hot gas fire at about 2 o'clock in the morning. The bottle got hot, got soft and exuded a bubble which grew quite large before exploding with a VERY loud bang. It was quite good fun but I felt that once was enough.
