How do you actually write one? do you do it in notepad/ winword?
and just write the extension as .hlp (or .chm depending if I am using Winhelp ot Html help).

    Thanx very much,

there are several programs you can use. Help Workshop for Winhelp, and i think there's an HTML Help Workshop for HTML help are two.

You CAN create a help document in Word and then compile it up as a help file. You CAN also swim the Atlantic, but I wouldn't advise that either.
We use DevComponents HelpKit v6.1 - go to www.componentsource.com and search for HTML Help.

Use the Help Compiler which is shipped with Visual Studio. You need to use WinWord (or any editor that supports the features of a RichEdit 2.0) to write the help files though.
