I want to put a zip drive on the same IDE channel as a CD-ROM drive, where do I put it? At the end of the cable, or the middle?

And if it's at the end of the chain, what jumper settings should I have for the CDROM and the zip itself?

Thanks a lot,
Dennis

PS: I've got a PII 350mhz w/ 128MB RAM. It doesn't have a hard drive, cdrom drive, or a floppy drive, about how much is that worth? A friend has an old P133 and might want to buy it.

It doesn't matter, although traditionally the master goes at the end and the slave goes in the middle. I just built a system that does the opposite, though, so it doesn't matter.

Well, I found out the reason that it wasn't recognizing either one is the CDROM was set to cable select, but the zip was set as slave, and that doesn't work :o

Nope, that's why they run a hell of a lot faster than a floppy. And that's why they're called ATAPI ZIP drives. :D
