oracle vb error

hi folks,

i'm having this problem with a vb app that i wrote. everything was working fine but then last week i started having this problem and i don't know what started it...

i get the following error when the app tries to connect to the oracle database:

first a window pops up and the microsoft driver says that i need to install oracle client (even though it is already) on the machine... and the following run-time error gets logged: (-2147467259) - [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed

i've tried re-installing oracle but that didn't help, same error. i have oracle 7.3.4 running on solaris 2.6, on the nt box that is running the app i have tried both mdac 2.0 sp2 and mdac 2.1, but i still get the same error. i get the same error with oracle's odbc driver.

any help will be greatly appreciated... thanks!

This may be happened due to installation of MS Office. I have also faced the same problem. If U install MS Office, install custom setup and do not check DATA access check box.
