StartDoc...EndDoc??

I've been trying to get my app. to start a print job using StartDoc...EndDoc and StartPage...EndPage. I can't get this to work and I'm wondering if it is because I'm trying use it to print a PDF. Does anybody know if it's possible to do this or does it just work with text files and such?

i think there is an API that allows u to print any file that is of known format to windows. sorry, but i dont know which one it is coz i rarely use printing API, but i know it exists
