Question Max number of Columns in an SQL Server Table?

I am considering SQLServer as a database tool for a new development project.

What is the maximum number of columns I can put in a table?

    Thanks in advance.

They bump that number up every SQL Server release. SQL 2000 is 1024. There's also a limit to how many total bytes a table row can have, though...

    Get these: Mozilla Opera OpenBSD
I have books for sale: "MCSD in a Nutshell" and "VB Distributed Exam Cram" - PM me for details. Will also trade for a decent ATX Pentium 2 MB/CPU/RAM combo.

Although if you actually need 1024 columns you either have very specialised requirements in which case a standard RDBMS probably isn't the best solution, or you need to rethink your design.
