Disappearing ActiveX

I have come across a problem, like, I made a simple navigation tool bar control, with just a click event and a property to get the recordset. But when I place this object on the cool bar of a MDI form, the object is not visible. why is it so? when I run the program and click on the position of buttons, it appears.
