Does anyone know how I can change the autonumber value on a table when it has data in it - the last number is 9998 but the next one is coming up as 12924 and I want it to be 9999. Any ideas?

an AutoNumber is called an Autonumber because it's population is automatic. For some reason, MS Access does not reset it's auto number counter after an update was cancelled or records deleted.

Maybe you can cut the data of 12xxx, and then "add a new record" and paste it into it.
