I followed the instructions on this site:http://www.vbonline.com/vb-mag/0012/article/tcp/default.htm exactly and all I got was errors. Am I doing it wrong or is this tutorial flawed?

I've gotta be honest, that tutorial was pretty crappy :D First thing I noticed, in the ConnectionRequest event, the tutorial has "Winsock1.Accept requested" The argument that is passed to ConnectionRequest is RequestID. It didn't do a very good job of explaining other things either. You can find a better tutorial on www.vbworld.com or if you have any other questions feel free to ask me

well I followed a tutorial on vbworld and got the same error, so I guess its just me, yet I can't see what I am doing wrong. I included a screen shot of my code as an attachment, I was wondering if you could tell me what I am doing wrong.

Wow, those are some...blinding...colors :)
Your code looks fine, emcee...don't know where the code is missing an object, unless your textbox or Winsock control has been renamed/deleted

nope nothing renamed or deleted, btw, the colors were due to converting it to gif without editing the pallette.
