Network ODBC Driver

I am trying to set up and access a network ODBC driver to an Access Database. I have used the RegisterDatabase function, and it successfully registers it, but requires a drive letter for the network path instead of a "\\server\" type path. If the DSN is local then it will connect but gives a message stating that I cannot modify the database. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am STUCK.
