    Getting Browser name

Hello, I am trying to find if ASP has a method or a property for determinig the browser. I have played around with ASP's
    Request.ServerVariables("HTTP_USER_AGENT")
but I am looking for something that is closer to the JavaScript navigator.appName property, which returns either the string "Netscape" or "Microsoft Internet Explorer".

On a related question, is there a way to pass values between JavaScript and ASP?

Nothing wrong with the detection part, its the string that it returns which I do not like.
Like I said before, i prefer to have ir return something more general, like "MSIE" or "Netscape".
