How to get a Site available for user access...

What do I have to do to get my Site available for User Access? It's ready... I can proof it in my machine... but when I ask someone to access it over a LAN... it's not possible... I can't do it when I type the IP address on the URL too, when I'm connected over Internet.

When I'm connected in a LAN, just the server Machine can access my Web Site, other common users can't do it... It seems to me I have to configure some kind of permission on IIS...

Does anybody know what's going on?

Changes are its due to a router / firewall. Do have a public IP address that is reachable through the internet? If it begins with 10.* or 192.168.* (and a couple of others) it won't work. See if you can ping your computer through the internet or telnet to your ip address at port 80.

I'm connected to a LAN with an IP Address that begins with "10.32..."; and I'm also connected to Internet (via a Modem and an Internet Provider) with an IP that begins with "200.228...".

What is strange is that, in my LAN, the Server Machine can access my Web Site, but other user don't; and over the Internet no user can access it... except myself (but the Web Site is in my machine...), if I type the IP address on the URL...

Does anybody have an idea?

You'd have to be dialed in to access it through the Internet. Does your ISP allow you to run a web server. They could easily block it.

OK. I guess that's it... I remember I've tested a year ago in our branch in Rio de Janeiro and it worked well (there, I don't connect through a ISP)... but now, since I'm travelling in another state, I'm using an ISP... I didn't know that...


But do you know the reason why others users through a LAN can't access my WebSite and the Server do?

It's really hard to say without knowing a good deal about how your network is setup.
