Changing text color on selected tab of tabstrip

I am using a tabstrip with twelve tabs and would like to find a way to make the selected tab stand out a little better. Perhaps either by highlighting the selected tab or changing the color of it's text.

Any suggestions on how to do either (or something altogether different that will accomplish my purpose) would be greatly appreciated!
