I got my domain name registration documents through yesterday and i now am the official owner of goffic.co.uk but i don't want my current ISP to host my site for me as they are crap and there is little space,
so i am after somewhere else to host my website for me so i can use my goffic address i would like at least 50MB and cgi, php sql support any ideas of anywhere that will do this for me oh if they do email fowarding or similar that would be nice as well :)
BTW i have tried www.easily.co.uk and they are crap !! to many loops and hurdles
Cheers

Merlin me old mucker;): Try Your name Here (http://www.your-name-here.co.uk). I've got 2 domains hosted by them, and they rule. Doug, the head honcho, is really cool easily approachable and will try and help you out with anything (he helped me with CGI scripting once, and custom error pages). You can use preloaded CGI scripts and upload your own without having to get permission or anything. I don't think it has ever been down and it's pretty reliable and quick. They do all the PHP, mySQL stuff as well. A little pricey perhaps but well worth it. They use T3 backbones and Unix servers. Oasis (http://www.oasisinet.com/) (the band) have their site hosted by them too. They'll arrange for the domain moving too if you ask them to. Worth a try.
Beacon: no, it wasn't me. I already have a groovy host.:D

Just a flying visit (and this one too!!)They are a little pricey (remember that i am a student)Yeah, I said they were but you're not likely to find anything else that offers the kind of things you want for less cash. Short of banner ads and crappy pop-ups. Good luck anyways and let me know if you do!!;)

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH, for gods sake (sorry not intended to offend anyone just letting off steam) i finally find a good place that will do what i want and for FREE it was at virtual avenue in case anyone is interested www.virtualave.net and they need my credit card details (this is incase by data transfer exceeds there set limits and they will charge me a couple of bucks, but this wont happen) so i thought that i could use my solo account (as this works nearly all over the UK) but this is an american site and they only accept Visa, Mastercard of American express !!!!!
AH this really does piss me off
oh well i will just keep on surfing around
