My office block is the furthest on the left. I'm on the 18th floor (weird numbering system they have here. Ground floor is 1st floor etc., but they skip the 13th Floor i.e. It goes from 12 to 14. Are the people on the 14th floor really so stupid that they don't realise they are really on the 13th!!!) Mad as a hatter.

Maybe there is a 13th floor, but the elevator/lift just passes it by. It could be just lying empty gathering dust.
Maybe Canadians have difficulty counting with the big numbers (i.e. more than 10) and get confused.
We had a fire alarm in this building a while back. The tannoy message was "There has been a fire alarm on the 23rd floor. Will the 23rd floor only, evacuate. I repeat, will the 23rd floor only, evacuate."
Now it's a 28 storey building. You can bet your ass that if I was on the 24th (or above) floor I'd be evacuating after a message like that. It makes you wonder about some people.

I have a load of empty CD cases in my desk shelves (preferring to keep them in CD holders) A bottle of half empty JD, my Saitek Cyborg Jostick, Crappy 15" monitor that is gonna be replaced soon. My mobile phone, a BNC connecter, two sattelite speakers, a sub-woofer, a 5 port Hub, some Purple coloured stones (can't remember the name, but apparently are good for dispelling bad energies caused by computers.... don't ask crazy g/f). A colur print cartrigde and a Tankard that my skittles team got for being runners up in our division, Deodorant, A Troll that is dressed like Elvis, My katana sits on the top shelf of the Desk, one of those irritating ballbearing games that are nearly immpossible to do (you know where you have to get them all in place), the Current fantasy book i am reading. About the player, yes, CD's hold more mp3's than my smartmedia 64MB card (which looks considerably sexier though :D), but it makes the device big.

I used to live pretty near to helsinki. BTW we are so going to win the world championship of hockey... :D
Anyway, I think minidiscs are a little hippier than mp3's, although I somehow just think them as something that's not that sophisticated as mp3 players. I really don't know why. But I prefer mp3.
And by the way, I think napster's dead. I went online last night (on napster), and there were something like 9 thousand users online. Of the millions that there once were. I tried searching for that song from the movie "evolution" trailer. "Play that funky music." But no matching songs found. Tried other stuff also, like ANYTHING with artist Iron Maiden. Nothing. NOTHING!! Napster's dead. And who are we to blame? People like the guys of Metallica. "We are about the richest metal band there has ever been, but while our CD sales have only increased during the time of napster, we still want more money from our [crappy] music". Camoon. That is the most un-hip thing I have ever seen a big rock-star do. As someone said. Then lets take Maiden for example. They have their own policy about piracy of their music: "We have enough money. If people like our music, then by all means download it and listen to it". Go british!
Oh, and did you see the MTV [something]awards some time ago. I have seriously never in my whole life seen anything lamer than the anti-napster propaganda that one guy from metallica had got MTV to show. "We are just sharing." Remember that? AND HE PROBABLY THOUGHT HE WAS FUNNY!!!
Actually I never used napster much. Suddenly I am extremely angry.
What the heck lets all be angry for no reason.

I know what you mean about the search facility never finding anything. They've blocked out loads of key phrases (like "Iron Maiden" for instance) so that they never return any results. You have to basically just search for something like "Iron" or just "Maiden" and hope it doesn't block it. If you want AC/DC stuff you can't type in "AC DC", you have to put in "AC" and then search through all the crap you get to find soem AC/DC tracks.

Well alot of people are using now 17" monitors on a low 1024x768 (some on lower for some reason) and when im programming I like to see as much text as I can, But the interface always comes out on smaller resolutions to big, and I have to change res, But I can just nick one of the Dell monitors which run at a nice 1024x768 (and one above, on a 15" !!!) I can easily view both too. oh and I run in 1600x1200 most the time, I turn it up higher sometimes.
