I don't like binary access file (*.dat)...

Is there any easy way (or point) for me to use *.mdb files as "data"-files, instead of i.e. *.dat using binary access?

I'm kind of tired of keeping track of all positions in the data file (...since I'm Da Rookie and havn't learn to plan my projects... ;) )

Any suggestions, anyone?
