Finnish has gotta be the strangest european language. ;) It doesn't seem to resemble any other (not even russian). Where the heck are its origins?

I think that makes you the only non-indoeuropean language group in Europe. I had a collegue (a Mac user actually) who learned Finnish specifically to try to develop an alternative mind set and way of thinking:confused:

I paid 115,000.00 for my 2000 sq.ft house.....I saw ads for three bedroom apartments for that much in the London Times. They make a lot higher salaries but they pay megagazillions more for everything!!!

chrisjk

1 bed apart. really depends where you are. London is silly money ($50-100,000+) but elsewhere probably a more reasonable $40+

Unfortunately, milk is sold in pints. I'll have to find out how many litres a pint is

parksie
Apr 30th, 2001, 05:53 PM
1pt = 568ml :) Says so on the bottle :p

barrk
Apr 30th, 2001, 05:54 PM

chrisjk
Apr 30th, 2001, 05:57 PM

I happen to remember that 1 gallon is 4.546 litres, in case you're after some accuracy.

That's a UK Gallon

A US Gallon is 3.785411784 litres

so 78p per litre = £2.96 per us gallon (0.78 *3.785411784)
£2.96 in US$ = 2.96 * 1.45 = 4.28

so 78 UK Pence per litre = $4.28 per US Gallon. Bargain!

The average UK Salary is approx £19000 per annum
which equals $27550 per annum (@$1.45/£)

I assume £19k is the mean? The average for people I come across certainly isn't that high, perhaps it's raised by the real high earners. The median must be a bit lower.
