Since I have nothing else to do right now I'll just post a pointless thread or two.
So todays poll: Which one of the classics of [their genre] is better, The X-Files or The Outer Limits?

Definitely Outer Limits :) I like the way most of the endings are really depressing...with the exception of a few...

Has to be Other Limits for me as well.
I could never get into the X-Files, it all seemed to go too quickly. Although Gillian Anderson pops my truncheon  :p

I like the Outer Limits better than the X-Files. I think that the X-Files is becoming pretty kit-end... Both are good though...

David Duchovny does it for me! They filmed part of the movie at the local airstrip and I got to meet him......he's even more gorgeous in person.....Gillian was nice too btw.

X Files:
Sometimes believable
Dave Duchovny
Gilly Anderson
Skinner (he rulez the grumpy old sod)
The name Fox. I mean, how cool is that???
Outer Limits:
Poor, poor, poor story lines/completely unbelievable
Different cast
Occasional naked women
Shown later so more likely to contain naked women.
In conclusion: Outer Limits, but only because of the prospect of naked women.

My husband thought she was pretty nice to look at but he went ape sh*t over David Duchovny's girlfriend(now wife) Tea Leoni!! I have to admit that she was pretty remarkable looking!

Oh, I forgot that! I saw Leoni in the Family Man when flying to Hawaii recently. She's something. And Anderson is OK too. Pretty good actually. Wouldn't complain if had someone like her :D.
About the poll (which I already forgot), I would have to say I'm not sure. Which is kinda why I made a poll of it (and seems pretty even btw).
The X-Files:
- Gillian Anderson (beats Carmen Electra and the like about ten times. Of course it helps to have a face that you can look at, not just silicone)
- Skinner
- John Doggett (T1000 rides again)
- Plots sometimes pretty lame
The Outer Limits:
- Love the intro too (gets you in the mood :) )
- Has had many cool guest stars (John Savage, and a bunch of others I can't remember right now)
- Like the freedom of having no ties in time and place (gives writers more freedom => better plots)
- Has had many brilliant (almost classic) episodes
- The endings (and those quotes and stuff in the beginning and the end)
- And of course the nudity (which can't be shown in the US though. Shame)
Well, now looking at the list I would have to say I like Outer Limits better. But still for some reason I follow X-Files more closely... It's probably because I always forget when Limits airs... Anyway...

I don't get to watch TV very often, so I like the fact that Outer Limits episodes stand-alone. I tend to find X-files difficult to follow if I haven't seen it for a while.

That's a good point, the episodes don't require you to have spent x many hours of your life watching the previous episodes...
