Try installing Internet Explorer 5 as this comes with the latest wininet.dll version or try uninstalling any older versions first.

I'm not sure about WinME, but on a Win2000 platform, the PDW will cause an endless reboot when needing to upgrade components. This is a documented problem, and one that was fixed with SP4. So, if you have a faster connection, I would download the newest SP (which would be 5) and see if that solves your problems. Like I said above though, this was documented only in Win2000 so it might not help you.

    The url is:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/sp/vs6sp5/default.asp

And information the the endless reboot issue is found here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/sp...es.asp#package

    I hope this helps.
