    If you just pop it behind the monitor. Most people don't bother to look there.

    Or perhaps unplug it and drop it down the back of the sofa.

    actually if you showcursor while it's shown, you need to hide it twice to make it invisible.
    showcursor returns a number, if it's below 0 then it's hidden, otherways it's shown.
    showcursor 1 will increment this number while showcursor 0 will decrement it.
    to make sure it's shown you could do:

    Do while Showcursor(1)<0
    Loop

    and to make sure it's not do:

    Do while Showcursor(0)>=0
    Loop
