Do Aussies still need a VISA to live/work in the UK...? What are the restrictions...?

I would suspect (though don't quote me on it) that Australians would have to go through the same processes as anyone else.

Yes you need a working visa to work there.

To get one you need to be under 24 or 26, one or the other, and can only have one for 1 year!

There are exceptions though:
1) You can work there past that age as long as you have a uni degree for as long as you/they like!
2) You can get sponsored to work there by a company for as long as you/they like and age doesn't matter.

But the immigration department have to say yes or no!

That's unfair!

I think we should be attempting to attract more people in the 65 - 95 age bracket to swell the ranks of the old age pensioners and bring a little sorely needed wisdom to this country!

I'm sure any extra cost to the tax payer will be more than compensated by the increase in national wisdom that will occur after packing the country full of 'old' people. :p

What is the whole point in Australia being "linked with the monarch". We Australians, should have free access to every country under the monarch.

Or thats it! I am going to protest. Australia should become a Republic! :D

:) :( :o :D ;) :p

May l say in starting, that the whole country grieves with Aussies who have been forced to live in Pomgolia.

We already have our own queen, he's the current Foreign Minister. That guy frightens me.

And yes you do need a visa, the whole country cannot believe you would be silly enough to leave these sunny shores for the bleak monotony of England:rolleyes: Therefore you need documented proof of your, (hopefully), temporary insanity.

Get real, get a life and move to the US along with the other hoards of Aussie computer people.

P.S Sorry to further disappoint you, but Aussie Rules is not a major sport in the UK. *shudder* do they have no culture over there.

I'm not in my sixties, I'm only 27.

I obviously didn't make my irony blatant enough.

Well I think you'll find that British people going over to Australia need visa's as well.

The weather is bleak but I still hold that Britain is one of the most beautiful countries in the world! :p
