are there any forums with no moderators??
just curious, but are there any forums that have no moderators, where each user is a moderator ??

There are lots of user-run vanity forum sites that might lack effective moderation.
What sense would "every user is a moderator" make though. Everyone deleting each other's posts, etc. Sounds absurd.

Each user would be the 'ideal' user, whose posts will conform to the rules of the forum, so that a moderator would not be required...

Never Ever believe that a user will be 'ideal', always expect a user to do the unexpected, not allowed......

As long as the rules are as flexible as the users, then no moderation is needed. Of course, the rules would have to be understood to be sufficiently flexible by the users. In other words, it would be a total free for all, and those who were easily offended or insufficiently thick skinned, would eventually leave.

There are forums without moderators. Things get very ugly on these forums. If you were to join one of them, do your best to preserve your anonymity.
Each user is not a moderator, but there are no moderators. Eventually they get infested with too many trolls.

Besides Parliment?
A couple of forums I hang at have little to no moderation ... or bad word filters come to think of it. Interesting to note they develop their own culture and forms of moderation over time.

Well, basically as long as you are able to shoot at sight it's ok, but the moment someone turns their bazzookas at you, you need to hide behind a bigger baddie and cry out for shelter, don't you?
