What version of VB should I use?
Hi There!
I may have taken on a massive project, but I'm looking to cut a lot of the work down and simplify the program down a lot but here is what I need to do.
I've been asked to create some radio automation software. It's got to have some form of Library, Playlist, 3 Players e.g. Player 1, 2 and possibly a button activated sound board.
What would you recommend I do for the Library system, it's got to be able to have files added by a novice computer user. I thought about going along the lines of just using the windows file system and collecting like the ID3 tag info from the mp3's, but that would limit the system to not being able to hold data such as fade in-out times etc.
Would VB handle this project ok?
Have you any resources that might help me?
And what version of VB should I use?
I've done some coding in VB6 but now I own VS2010 what are the differences?
I hope you can help! Let me know if you need anymore details,
MrGeeza

Re: What version of VB should I use?
The differences between VB6 and VB.NET are too numerous to cover easily. A search on this forum will return many threads wrangling over that issue, some as recent as the last month. There is no good reason to go with VB6 unless you are simply unwilling to learn anything new. As for whether VB will handle this, the answer is yes, and it's a reasonable choice of language for the project.
My usual boring signature: Nothing
