New Project- Need Experienced Help

Hi everybody. I joined these forums because I need help working on a project.

I am from a Mario fan-game forum, and the guys who was developing our fan-game has given up and moved on to another community. Now, a bunch of us from the forums are working on setting up our own Mario Fangame.

Of the four or five of us working together to get this happening, I am the one with the most programming experience, but It's nothing major at all. That's why we are looking for help from anybody that can help us.

The game is going to be a similar remake to the original. The hardest part is this- It is going to have a level editor. We would also like to be able to import all of our old levels/ projects (which are in a .lvl file format) into the new editor and into the "Game Player".

We are trying to model our game first, after the predecessor version, but then we want to add some more features when we get to it. But right now, we are really just looking for somebody to help us do two things: (for now)
-Help us get a working level editor
-Get this level Editor to be capable (somehow) of loading our .lvl and .wld (those are for world maps) that we have made in previous versions.

If anybody wants to, I can give anybody that helps the last copy of the original fangame to see what we are trying to copy off of, as it is kind of hard to explain just in text.

Thanks guys. I do believe this is the correct place to place this. I am a Global Mod. on our Mario Fangame Forums, so I am not a complete noob to forums, so I hope this is the right place.

I'm still trying to develop a platforming game creator off of the basis of the post above. If anyone has anything to contribute and help- PLEASE do so. We need all the help we can get.
