Shell question again

[Everytime]

If I was using shell execute to open a hign number of
files (by looping through them) and then at the end of
the loop my application will unload, will shellexecute be able to process these open requests (say a particular
file takes a while to open - when my app closes and this
slow opening app is still opening will IT continue to open?)

This might be a silly question but thx for help
