Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Another thing that annoys me about VB...
When you maximize VB6 (from being minimized on the taskbar) it very often only shows the Title Bar (not the rest of the window). If you double click the title bar twice it sorts it out, but I really wish it didn't.
I noticed it first in VB5, but it still hapens in this version...will the big MS sort it out by VB7??

Ok, I guess I'm convinced that Matthew's minimize/maximize problem is not unique to his PC. Could the difference be that I'm using NT and he and you others who have the problem are not? In any case, have any of you reported the problem to MS? I'm sure that MS would be interested in correcting the problem and perhaps already has a solution.

Hi,
This has happened to me but only when I'm running a program in design mode AND if I have a control on the form. e.g. Winsock.
However, once made into an exe it works properly.

I believe that your current problem is a problem specific to your PC, but your previous problem happens to me as well and it is annoying.

No,
It also happens to me and my friend. If you minimize VB and then maximize it for a bit I'm sure you will see what matthewralston is talking about. Its a small but very annoying bug!

I'm not sure, but I think this happens in SDI mode. Change the VB IDE to MDI mode and you won't have this problem.

Well, like Martin Liss, I'm using NT4 and I have never experienced that problem.

Sorry, Turin, I never use VB in SDI mode cos it's crap!!
The bit about having a control on a form and running it then maximizing VB intrigues me though...might experiment with that...
Marty...have you ever tried reporting ANYTHING to MS? You're lucky and very special if you even get a reply...never mind a solution!!

I've never seen in on NT, 95 or 98!!
I even tried to duplicate it from the ideas in the above replies!!
Maybe I'm lucky and special :D
I've reinstalled the PCs in question several times too and on of them is even a Japanese OS.
Never heard of it in VB (Although it happens to me in Borland C++ Builder :( )
Not just VB then, I thought it was...who's gonna die for this then? :)

I've seen the problem persist on many of my machines with both VB5 & VB6. I've come to accept it as a reminder that not only do programs I write are buggy, but so is the world from where it's from. Besides, whip cream is really an elegant hair tonic sold by the old man gipsy.

I'm affraid it happens to me as well (WIN98) and a reinstall doesn't shift the problem.
