i am using the VB: Learning Edition, the only reason i purchased this version was because it was a LOT less expensive that the other versions. When i learned how to make an OCX file, i tried but i couldn't with my learning edition, does anyone know if there is a way to make OCX files in VB: Learning Edition?

Buying learning edition was a bas choice...It has limited functions, and limited controls you can use.
I have never tried it, but I think you're only able to create exe's.
Get Pro or Enterprise...(I know they are very expensive, but they are worth it... )

You did the right thing! It is a lot cheaper to buy the learning edition and then UPGRADE to Pro edition.
This is what I did last year and I saved over £180!!
I got LE for about £80 and the upgrade was £190, I have never had any problems at all with this setup and it does everything that you would want, OCX's activex DLL's IIS apps etc...
Save up your pennies and get the upgrade.

The learning edition doesn't even allow you to create exe's... (i think)
You'll need the Pro or Enterprise edition to make .exe's .ocx, .dll, .<anything>
The upgrade option is indeed a good thing. The same goed for buying only MS Word and then upgrade to MS Office. That also saves some major ƒƒ

I think you can download the VB Control Creation Edition from VB.

ok
just for the record, you can make .exes with LE, but nothing else. I tried hexing VB, but i couldn't find anything to change, so i guess i'll just have to buy an upgrade, Microsoft got me again, lol

Of course you are able to makes exes. If you weren't, why would the even publish it!

Hypothetically speaking, they would publish it because people can still run their programs in the development environment, and if they like it a lot, this could persuade them to purchase the edition with a compiler.
