    Smile Help with API conversion

I had the following post in the .Net section.
    There it was said
it's not classic .net it's 95% API and a 5% .net. I'm starting to think that this was initially done in vb6
So I figure I will be able to get more help from here

    Fingers XXXXXX
(and I am not too good at VB6 either)

I found this source code for controlling mappoint in .net

    .Net confuses me so much.

What would it take to convert it back to VB6?

The projects seem small in size, but I just dont understand .net

    Found Here

    Any suggestions?

    Re: Help with API conversion

I just can not seem to figure out how to connect to some api to get the commands to work.

Hoping someone will have a look if they have .net, even if they dont have mappoint.

I am really regretting buying the Mappoint for this project!

Honestly, I haven't downloaded your zips or visited MapPoints site.
    1) Their site may have specific VB6 examples?
    2) For the other APIs you are having issues with, post them here along with examples how you are calling them and describe what isn't working. Many of us can make very educated guesses at what may be wrong.

    Re: Help with API conversion

OK, thanx, I will have to use PC at work as I dont have the info here.

Unfortunately, at the mappoints forum, all I get is that its stupid to go back to VB6 or messages that they are willing to connect to my Pc remotely (as they dont have vb6 anymore) and charge me $90 per hour.

All that after buying the software.

Honestly, if I could come up with a better option I would in a heart beat.

Just wanting GPS/Maps and onscrean driving directions.

You have helped me in many other threads which I am extremely appreciative, but to recap,
this project is for my Carputer, on a 9" touch screen, so I need to customize this accordingly to be usefull.

Never to be sold or redistibuted but just a fun (mostly fun lol ) project for my car.

Plus I am learning so much as I go!!!

Being a 40+ Auto technician, this is not the easiest for me.

    Thanx Again.

Being a 40+ anything isn't easy any more

Unless another member has used that app and its APIs before, the best you may get is "good guesses". The more you can show us and the more info you can provide about the specifics of the problem, the better quality answers you should get. Until then...
