[HELP!] Overwriting one file with another [NooB]
Hey guys, im new with the programing, and i didn't know where to post this so i just put it here because im wanting to creat a simple program/tool to overwrite the original file with the modified one.
it's an XeX file that i wanna replace with a upgraded version to make a tool simply to open the original file, then press another button named like "MOD" or something and it overwrites it.
thanks for all the help guys and like i said, i don't know where to post this but it's about gaming though.
thanks

If you are using VB6, look at this FAQ topic. If .Net, then look at the .Net FAQ topics for file input/output

Yea, you want to post this in either the VB.NET or VB6 forum (depending on what you're programming in). the Gaming forum is typically used for questions specifically about gaming and game routines like rendering, DirectX, path-finding AI, control input, XNA, etc...
You'll bet better help with general questions about file manipulation, databases, and similar stuff there.

Welcome to the forums.
If this is a gaming question, then this is fine for a location.
However, no one will know what do provide for help unless you specify what programming language (and version of that programming language) you are using.
