[RESOLVED] Errors on viewing attachments

Hey....

i'm getting errors while trying to view an attachment.

NoobOne, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

I found some very old threads, but no solution for this. its the same with every browser, like Firefox, IE, Chrome and Opera.

i've written a PM to si_the_geek, who sadly couldn't help. But he says, a new thread in this forum could help =)

Any help is appreciated. Thank you in Advance.

its almost every attachment... for example this -> http://www.vbforums.com/showpost.php...54&postcount=4

there i cant view the files, and in every thread i tried too...

It works for me and I'm pretty sure that you being new has nothing to do with it. What exactly do you do when you try to view the file? If simply clicking on the file doesn't bring up the File Download dialog window then I'd try rebooting.

i've tried it a few days in a row... then i tried router reconnecting, logout and login, tried it as guest, with other browsers... nothing... i even tried it from another pc.

Marty, this isn't something to do with the number of posts that the OP has does it?

NoobOne, can you explain exactly what you are doing to attempt to download the files?

I just checked and was told that there's nothing at our end that should be stopping you from opening attachments and that it must be some type of "local issue".

From the example thread above, what happens if you put the following:

The complete address would be:

http://www.vbforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=81136&d=1290021523

It got truncated when I put it in URL tags.

this works! it shows the downloadwindow, if i click on the link and if i paste it into the addressbar.

i've tried it... now i can download all attachments by clicking on them
What was wrong? and why i can now store more then one PM? xD

I have no idea about the attachments but your PM permissions are no longer restricted now that you have more than one post.
