openfiledialog
It might sound dumb question to l33ts sitting out there, forgive me for this since i am just starting vb from the scratch
I am making a project in which i will allow users to select the files form the hard drive, the problem is i don't know where to look for OpenFileDialog control so that i can put it on my form & move ahead with the coding part
here is how my tool box looks like in which i can't seem to find the OpenFileDialog control

Is there any other place where i might need to look for the control
Regards

Re: openfiledialog
Welcome to the forums.
In VB6 it is called the CommonDialog control and can be found under Project/Components
You need to add it to your toolbox (for each project in which you wish to use it)

Re: openfiledialog
There is a good chance this question is about VB.Net instead of VB too.

Re: openfiledialog
Ok, if you have VB6 that's half the battle, one less complication anyway.

What image? Image tags don't actually work with external links here. I tried looking at your linked image:

However that's a dicey non-work Web site according to the thought police here at work and it is blocked.

Re: openfiledialog
Being able to see the image. The OP is at Microsoft Windows Common Controls....
Scroll up and look for Microsoft Common Dialog Control 6.0 (SP6)
Good Luck
Option Explicit should not be an Option!

Re: openfiledialog
If you would have gone carefully through the tutorial then you would have found which option you need to click
I would recommend reading it again... Perhaps... more slowly is time?

I replied to koolsid's tutorial with some additional useful information you'll want to get your common dialogs to look better.
