I had 2 big breakfasts once (in about 30 mins) which has got to be equal to 6 muffins...but I was well and truly stuffed after that :)

what happened to the double and triple cheeseburger????

chrisjk
Mar 18th, 2001, 01:09 PM
Yeah, they used to do some really neat stuff (usually the one-off specials) which are much better than the usual. At the mo they are doing Italian-style chicken and cheeseburger, and a little while ago they did Australian stuff (for the olympics). I think they should keep those things permanently.

The italian thing is quite grim, I wouldn't recommend it.

Jack in the Box is another fast food franchise. They had a few around here in Philadelphia a while back, but they all went belly-up because the Board of Health basically said that the place wasn't fit for cockroaches to live in, so you can imagine what that must have done to the food...:(

And, oh yes, BK Fries are in best in my opinion.

jack in the box got a facelift of sorts..and everything is different then before...no more roaches or vermin :)
but.. if that is still the case..that is the best damn tasting vermin :) heh

simonm
Mar 19th, 2001, 07:30 AM
Well said Goodreams. McDonalds really does suck!

They're expensive and all you get is enough food to fill a child.
They put addictive agents in their food to get people hooked.
Their 'fresh' orange juice is made from frozen concentrate.
Their 'fries' have no potato in them.
Their chopped onions (you get a few sprinkled in your burger) are made from re-hydrated grandules.

Need I go on?

McDonalds are a threat to quality food and encourage bland appetites in children and if I had my way, I would ban them!

Mar 19th, 2001, 07:57 AM
Aaarrgghh!!! HATE MACDONALDS

KILL TREES...MASS PRODUCE...SPREAD DISEASE

and the "burgers" taste of polystyrene.

HarryW

Not the sausage & egg mcmuffins, they rock!

simonm
Mar 19th, 2001, 08:15 AM
McDonalds are the only people who I've ever heard of that have flat, circular shaped sauseges.

Considering what sort of s**t normally gets put in sausages, I dread to think of what they put in theirs!

HarryW
Mar 19th, 2001, 08:18 AM
You can buy burger-shaped sausage things in Tescos too.

I agree that McD's is pretty crappy overall, the orange juice is vile and the other burgers aren't that good, but sausage & egg mcmuffins are really nice :)

simonm
Mar 19th, 2001, 08:44 AM
Give me a real 'British' sausage anyday over a McDonald's sausage!

Cumberland sausage...mmm....!

I HATE Burger King and McDonald's. I'm a Hardees fan myself. I don't eat hamburger at any fast food restaurant. I will only eat ham and chicken. I can't stomach their hamburger after all of the bad stories I've heard. Hardees 'Hot Ham 'n Cheese' and 'Chicken Bacon and Swiss' Combos are the best! They also just got Breyer's ice cream too! The cookies that they serve nice and warm so they are all gooey, like they just came out of the oven, are awesome too.

I'm hungry now...

Having just seen one of their adverts, i now realise it is spelt McDonalds, not MacDonalds. I apologise for all inconvience, but as usual, you have no right to compensation.

Jeff aren't you in Southern California??? How can you not know that the BEST hands-down fast food restaurant is In-N-Out!! Outstanding french fries...cheap but great burgers...real lettuce and tomatoes...not to be missed!!!!

Sorry, feeling hungover and a bit grouchy.

But I mean what I say. I had a Burger King for the first time in 2 years last week, and I would rather stuff my face with poo than go through that experience again.

How on earth can a piece of "food" "cooked" up by someone who a) earns $3 an hour and b) doesn't care taste good???

barrk
Mar 19th, 2001, 01:16 PM
Not to quibble with you Gaffer but....minimum wage is 6.20 per hour....not that the extra 3.20 per hour will make the burgers taste better though!

McDonalds is the worst fast food ever.....pure crap!

Has anyone ever eatten at 'Checkers'? It's a food place in the Southeast. We ate there constantly when we took a rode trip to Florida about 4 years ago. Great chicken!

Surely a huge bar of chocolate is the best non-nutritious food around? Always works for me!!

3 things probably been mentioned!

1) Super Cokes - bout a litre of coke. Great in summer after sport or whatever! Oh ask for no ice and watch the trainee figure out how to do it!
She/he will probably try and guess when the ice comes out and move the cup away and put it back!
The machines up here dont have sepearate ice bits it just comes out with it!

2) Those rich chocolate muffins heated and served with sofserve and caramel!

3) Family feast me and my mate ate one of those to ourselves!
1 word munchies!
