Ive got a question:

Does anyone know the story about a little japanese kid
who fell into a well, but his name was so freakin long
that by the time his brother had told his mom, the kid
had died? Just wondering.

So what do we learn from that?
Give your kid a short name?
Why that in a programming forum?

We learn nothing
If you want
I was bored, and wanted to know

We learn nothing?
That is so sad I think I am going to cry!

Well if someone has an idea about the lesson of this story please post it
:)

NONONONONO!!! You all got that wrong!

This story teaches you that we should all give more affective names to our relatives. Like "brother" instead of that long name :D

...so we finally got the lesson out of this story.
I really thinks it tells us to give short but meaningful variable names!
That also answers question number 3 I posted earlier in here.

Enum names
Thiswastheveryverylongnameofthatbrother=3
End enum

dim a as names
if a=Thiswastheveryverylongna.. <vb crashes>

exactly!

@Keda:
I was online some time in the last time, because I need to ask you something. Why do you answer stuff here and you are not online in ICQ? Well I hope I see you soon.

oh sorry, i did have icq online (i thought) but in fact when i looked closer i didn't. You know i've switched over to trillian since a while ago and it didn't notice me that icq connection has closed, maybe it's something in settings...

hey kedaman
do you think sonork is really worth a change?
is the use of space on it efficient?
can it connect to ICQ? I have to many friends on ICQ to forget about it.

well actually I post that here to ask if you will still go on with ICQ?

well eh sonork is a totally different messenger, it's very light if you compare to icq, and still does plenty of stuff.

i'm using trillian to connect to icq and msn network though, it's not as light as sonork but a lot better than icq99a, doesn't send files though, but maybe the add that feature later on.

Sonork is worth it i'd say ;)

hehehe.. did someone mention my name? ;)
testing my brand new VB forum account

pplz.. now that you've mentioned Sonork:
I've just, just placed a draft of a VB-enabled DLL version of the Sonork engine on the Sonork FTP.. but since I'm no VB exxxp-p-p-e-r-r-r-t I could use some help on the design from ppl that actually use it.

What I'm doing is a VB library as easy to use as possible without losing any power on the Sonork engine.

Those who'd like to add full IM features to their applications in about, say, 2 seconds.. and even more: use the IM engine to communicate with other instances of the application (yes, Sonork CAN send more than just text messages: it supports virtual circuits over the IM network) might be interested in helping me in the design.

What's in for you? well, I'll be relying on your suggestions so you'll end up with a DLL that does what you need.

Btw: I dunno if this is the correct forum to post this.. I'm going to look around a bit more now.. suggestions: weeeellcome

almost fgot: url is ftp://ftp.sonork.com/developer/VB/
full C++ source codes for the DLL and the engine are also available.

< thanks.. thanks.
