Line out

Can someone tell me if this is possible and if so how to do it...

I need to output a wav file but while its outputing mute the speaker jack and only send to the line out jack of a sound card. then once the wav finishes turn the output of the speaker back on.

Any help would be appreciated..

i think there may be an mm call to switch the output of anything to line out... i'll just be a second.
