I just want to say a quick thing or two about the Welsh.

Before I go on, let me just say that I have a very good friend who's welsh so I am not racist.

Many people I know (English people) who have gone to Wales have encountered outright rudeness, hostility and discrimination just because they're English.

I'm not just talking about the odd joke or two; taking the mickey (like a welsh person in England might endure) but behavior bordering on racism.

I've never watched Welsh TV so I don't know if this attitude is ever reflected on screen but still I find it unacceptable. The moment someone dares slag them off they jump up and down but they certainly don't do much to endear themselves to the English so what do they expect.

I know there are hundreds of years of conflict and cultural subversion of the Welsh (along with other celtic regions of Briton) but they've got to move on and treat everyone they meet with an open mind (instead of pre-judging them on the basis of race).

I don't think much of Ann Robinson but the Welsh have a cheek for complaining about what she said!

For those who don't know her, she went on a short of chat show where people can try and get things placed into room 101, there supposed to be bannished for ever. As you can tell not a very serious program. Anyway she said

I find the Welsh irritating and don't know what they are there for.

Now the police what to question her, appearently even charge her for inciting racism. What a load of b*******.

political correctness has gone mad.cheeky comments are one thing, racism is totally different. Every time somebody of obvious racial differences is attacked, the media claim it is a racial attack. why? this isnt necessarily the case. this is never mentioned when a white person is attacked.

And also in this time of total freedom of speech and equality for all, the ironic thing is we also have to respect the rights of the truly racist people to air their views and have their say. Which is just out of hand.

Well, are there no welsh people on line to defend their corner? Is it a concensus of welsh opinion that Ann Robinson was out of order or is it just a few extremists getting all hot and bothered over a storm in a tea cup?
