hi guys, I made a pretty nice BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) program that is almost impossible to get out of. The only way (unless you know the password, and where/how to enter it) is to click the Reset button. After a little.... i'll tell you how to get out of the program... and if someone wants the source... just ask.
warning: close all programs/everything that u need to save before running.

well NT and 2K are a diffrent story.... there aren't many programs that can do the same in NT & 2K as in 98 and ME.

ok, so its not perfect, but can surely stop a little brother / sister from using your computer. And if it is developed a little more, i'm sure those problems can be overcome

In windows there's no way to secure a computer. You can always boot from A: :) and encrypting the HD can result in losing data ;)

true... true... but this wasn't ment to be as a very very secure program, and no hacker could over ride. This is just a simple program. (created about a year ago, when I was just a few months into VB)
I promised I would supply the source, here it is:

Just because you said [...] And if it is developed a little more, i'm sure those problems can be overcome
However, it's ok and it's a nice program.. can be usefull :)

Ok... What's the C source so I can do it in DOS? Or will you/someone need to make it? If so, here's the start of my "Blue-Screen-Of-Death". If anyone likes to, fix it up and post it here again. :)

Sh*t as in "crap, no C++ version". And yes, that's a pretty amusing VB example. I got pretty frustrated when I first ran it. :) Dimava, C is a great language. You should learn it. You can use C to make programs for any Operating System, and any platform. Plus it's fast!!!

I think i'll start learning it when I get a little older... cuz i'm only 13, and right now am concentrating on:
VB
Flash
VJ++
3D Studio Max 4
Swift 3D
and some other stuff
so maybe in a couple of years down the road I'll start learning C.

I'm only 15. I've got a new operating system on my hands! VB is a pretty good language. Easy to use/learn. I built a 3D engine in VB (I3D ring a bell?). I'm about a 1/3 way finished converting it to VC 5. Actually, I think I have a few too many projects. I need a team to help finish them. Here's my current projects and their priority:
1) CTOS in ASM/C/C++(An OS. Many projects in 1. This is also my biggest project, by far!).
2) Porting I3D to C++.
3) A game - Tank Attack in VB(3D game using I3D).
4) A messenger system to go along with TA in VB.
5) Who wants to be a millionaire in VB(Small Project).
6) Skip-Bo in VB(Ever heard of this card game? It's awesome and fun).
7) "The new C&C" in VB
When you learn C, help me out with CTOS. Hopefully CTOS won't be as buggy as Windows :D

ok, if you're still around this forum (i know I will be) then I would be glad to help... but that will take a few yers for me to start learning c

I just got the hang of C like 4 months ago. IT'S EASY!!!
Sure I'll be around this forum. And this OS will take a LONG time to build.

I never heard shizen, the german word is in fact Scheisse ;)
Warmaster: Disable the 'autostart windows GUI' -option and put this in your Autoexec.bat:
ctty NUL
(try it ... and use a disk to boot if you're done ;))

Mar 15th, 2001, 09:17 AM
I guess it is scheisse then...
Oh yeah... Thanks for that autoexec.bat modification. Do you know any C code that'll help me and my OS?
