I am creating a 2d Shooter similar to Microsoft's "Outlaws" except you wont move around and other things, but how do I make the images i.e,

Do I make the background and make the enemys pop-up and pop-down after a certain amount of time, or do I make a large animated picture and have it so that if you click a certain part of the picture like the enemy, they disappear or something.

Do I make any sense???????

I have everything else worked out, I think...
Ok Thanx.

To me, it sounds like you are doing a game similar to Activision's Time Commando, which was one of the first games to utilise an API, Direct3D 2. D3D didn't exist in the first version of DX.

What you want to do is:

A. copy the background onto the hDC
B. copy the enemies
C. copy you
D. copy anything that will block the enemies from view

It also sounds like "Area 51," a game found in many arcades, or maybe "Lethal Enforcers," another arcade game. You should make it look as realistic as possible, as these games are hard to do.

PS. I tried doing one, "Police Force," and it completely bombed. Of course, that was two years ago, but still....

Happy Hunting :)
