MPG Editing
Likely not the right forum but I didn't see a better one...
I got a new video recorder and want to edit mpgs of Christmans and the like. I want to do simple things like cut out dead space, bad shots, etc.
Does anyone know of anthing that I could use? Any freeware?

Re: MPG Editing
Have you tried windows movie maker? It is not the most feature packed piece of software like you would get with adobe premier (or premier elements) but for most simple jobs it will work and is easy to use. If you use adobe, get ready for a learning curve (I have not use the elements version which is supposed to be less "professional" and more user friendly, so I can't really speak for that).
Either way the adobe products are paid (but they do offer trials).
I would say give movie maker a go first, and see if there is something you need that it does not do before going on to other editors.

Not sure if this would help but I use VirtualDub for some of my video editing! It is 100% free to use.
