HI,
I just want to ask for some issues regarding the development of web applications as Power User.
I want to limit the access of our programmers to their computers as Power Users only. Does anyone experience some conflicts when developing as a Power User, like for example, access to the IIS, installation rights etc.
Thanks

I found that when we made some of our users Power Users they could not install major applications (I say 'major' because you can install some lightweight apps but not really much that is worth having) but I'm not sure about IIS. Easiest way to find out is to try it yourself... make yourself a power user then try and launch IIS and change a few things in it.
Just a quick note as well - using Power Users is not really that secure, as described here: http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2006/05/01/the-power-in-power-users.aspx

Hi Cris,
Thanks for the reply. Your right, their not able to install most of the application they need, my solution for that is they really have to ask for an admin to do the job to avoid installation of unauthorized applications.
About the IIS, I already try it and it really won't work unless an admin runs it for the programmer but this is not acceptable because our programmer needs full access on IIS.
Im trying to figure out now how to enable IIS if you are only a Power User.
Thanks again.
