I mainly use notepad, but i was looking for something that has more features, and maybe an MDI. Does anyone know any programs like this?

I have used TextPad (http://www.textpad.com/) before, and it seems good.

Wordpad is provided with Windows 9x and has a lot of features. If it is not good enough for your purposes, you need a serious Word Processor like MS Word or Corel WordPerfect.
It is in the Accessories Folder, not listed as a separate start menu program. Try Start, Programs, Accessories, Wordpad.
It creates files compatible with MS Word, but will not process Word Files.

I use a tool called Programers File Editor or Pfe.
available free via
http://www.lancs.ac.uk/people/cpaap/pfe
(they have moved around a bit)
It's a multiple text file editor with the only limits on the size of file being the memory in your computer. It has many features that I never need to use as it was developed for C programmers.
The main reason I like it is that it deals with text, no formatting, no colours and no other hidden nasties bunged into your file. It deals with unix format and probably many others as well.
