Hi,

I was planning to start my own website, but for free actually. I am a student and can't afford to buy a hosting plan or any such thing.

So I looked for free ASP.Net Web Host and found this (http://www.aspspider.com/). Does it look good to you? Do you know of any other free ASP.Net web hosts?

Also, how do I register a domain name? Does it require me to pay anything?

I was also looking at Wordpress sites, which I believe provides free hosting. But does it allow to host ASPX pages? I can do without any database service though.

Thanks for your time and help.

Wordpress is a blogging system... not a web host - even with an account with Wordpress.com, it's still a bloging site, not a real host... and it's all PHP driven, so no, there will be no ASPX support.

Yes, it costs to register a domain... how much it costs depends on who you go through. Mine happen to be included in my hosting package... so I'm paying for it indirectly... once you have a host, you can go through somehting like GoDaddy to register and pay for it then have it point to your host.

Thanks for the info.

Apparently, I can use Wordpress account for a while. Or maybe blogger.com.

If I pick a free ASP.Net host which provide a domain name for specific period of time, I might not be able to redirect my users to my new site if I ever register a domain for myself.
