how to telnet using a vb code

Can anyone help me with a vb code which will open a telnet session.

Hello!
I need to write a script which is able to do quite some work:-)
Help on any part of it would be great:
1. It should start automatically (e.g. every night), so it will probably be placed on a server.
2. It should open a tellnet session.
3. Connect to an application.
4. Key in user name, wait for reply, key in password
5. Key in several commands.
6. Shut down
