Congratulations Martin Liss
In two weeks, on 9/7/2009, Martin Liss will celebrate his 10 year anniversary of being a member of this site.
While there are member Ids that precede his join date, I believe he is the oldest (in terms of membership, not age) active member.
I realize this event is two weeks away, but I wanted to be the first to issue a congratulations message!!!

It would be 2017 for me. I was a VBForums member back in 2005. I stopped posting for a while and my identity evaporated into thin air. I don't know exactly how long it is before nonuse causes your identity to disappear.

Re: Congratulations Martin Liss
I first joined this forum in 1999 after I got dialup for the first time.
I think that was around May that year.
I don't live here any more.

Congratulations, Marty.
Keep up the good work. I have learned an awfully lot from you (and Hack, and the Fox, and Si, and RobDog, and LogoPhobic, and Ellis Dee, and Rhino, etc.) This is a great ship to ride on with a fabulous captain and crew.
I enjoy swabbing the deck and cleaning off a few barnacles from the hull now and then.

Helping younger people, makes you feel younger (it works for me at least, and I'm going to need that soon enough )

Re: Congratulations Martin Liss
It's certainly an impressive amount of time, but don't feel old because of it - there are several of us in our 30's (and some in their 20's) who aren't too far behind.
My join date was earlier than it appears, because my account needed to be re-created after the big crash. I think my original account was a year or so earlier.

I love the way you described it!
I feel pretty much the same. It's nice to pass on some knowledge, while also gaining some from others - no matter how good any of us get, there will always be some things that other people know better.

Hmmm... I actually posted my first answers back in '97, then they changed forum to vBulletin on January 1st, 1999 and you had to create a new account (which I did on January 2nd).

Joacim there can't be too many members that have an earlier join date than you. For all those posts I don't remember seeing you before. Perhaps you're not posting as much as you used to.

Re: Congratulations Martin Liss
I told a woman the other day "I'm so old that I forgot how old I am." She says, "I'll tell you how old you are. Take off your clothes and lie down." I do it and she says, "You're sixty seven." I asked her, "How can you tell?" The woman says, "You told me yesterday."
