does anybody know what some good web sites or books are to start to learn Java? and any places to get tools to help me? thanks

Get the "Thinking in Java" by Bruce Eckel which is free for download at www.bruceeckel.com. Java compiler is free on the Net also, but I don't have the link off the top of my head. Do a search for that and you should be able to find it easily. After that, it will simply be practice, practice, and more practice.

www.inprise.com download Jbuilder 4 foundation. It is a good tool for programming java.
