alter table tblname
rename column oldcolname to newcolumnname
but this gives me error as "synatax error "
WHETHER YOU SUCCEED OR FAIL IS NOT AS IMPORTANT AS WHETHER YOU TRIED YOUR BEST

For SQL Server use sp_Rename stored proc.
